The Dolphins Dominate the Pool in Home Opener

The Round Rock Dolphins made waves this weekend with a commanding victory at their home meet against the Cedar Park Typhoons and the Steiner Stars Blue. With the first official weekend of summer, the Dolphins splashed their way to the top of the leaderboard with an impressive 1,344 points — far ahead of the Typhoons (902) and the Stars Blue (860).

Record-Breaking Performances

The highlight reel from the meet was nothing short of electric, as the Dolphins set the tone with three new team records:

  • Bella Zhang, a force in the 7-8 girls' division, powered through the 25 Butterfly in just 16.30 seconds, smashing a record that had stood since 2017.
  • The Girls 9-10 Medley Relay squad — Willow Friend, Mika Ribeiro, Payton Bailey, and Olivia Huie — outdid themselves by shaving 0.01 seconds off their own record set just last week, clocking in at 1:01.90.
  • Omner Diaz crushed a 21-year-old record in the Boys 11-12 50 Backstroke, gliding to victory with a time of 30.30, beating the previous best of 31.13 from 2003.

Summer Fun Ahead

With the first home meet in the books, we head into morning practices starting Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend. Be sure to take advantage of discounted Kalahari Waterpark tickets for the team trip on June 3rd — visit the Dolphins Shop and check your email for details on how to purchase.

Also, a reminder to bring your biggest smiles to Picture Day on Wednesday 5/28 — there will be no practice that day as we capture the spirit of the team in full color.

The Round Rock Dolphins have kicked off summer with a splash — and if this weekend is any indication, it’s going to be nothing short of awesome!
